African Environmental Network took part on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in an ecological march in the city of Douala-Cameroon organized by the administrative authorities of the coastal region of Cameroon. During this ecological march whose objectives were to raise awareness on environmental education and collect waste, we contributed to collect nearly a ton of waste and educate more than 300 people on waste management. At the end of this activity we proposed the following suggestions to the commune of Douala 2nd:
– Propose to the local elected official axes of sensitization to optimize environmental education among residents and businesses;
– To draw the attention of the population to the danger of plastic peril which threatens the whole biodiversity;
– To propose capacity-building workshops on waste management strategies
